Add this to another station Brother Guy Consolmagno, Monday, 2-27-17 (10.11MB; download) -- We welcomed Brother Guy Consolmagno, Director of the Vatican Observatory to the show. During our 88 minute discussion, we talked about science, religion, faith, God, astronomy, humans in space, space settlement, planetary protection, the Moon, Mars, resource utilization, space commerce, and the nature of our belief in God. As you will hear, Brother Guy is both a traditional scientist and a Jesuit who was recently made the Director of the Vatican Observatory. Among the many topics discussed were the telescopes in the Vatican observatories outside of Rome and Tucson. The telescope history was fascinating, especially when talking about the new technology for making mirrors at the University of Arizona. Dr. Brother Guy was asked about scientists and having faith in God. This was a very interesting discussion early in our interview. Another big topic was extraterrestrials and sentient life in the context of faith and religion. Add this to another station Dr. Paul Spudis, Sunday, 2-26-17 (14.13MB; download) -- Welcome to this 2 hour 3 minute fascinating discussion without a break with Dr. Paul Spudis. We started with a tribute to our friend and associate Bill Mellberg who has been fighting a severe illness. Retired Moonwalker Jack Schmitt called in to also talk about Bill. Later, Bill sent us an email which I read on air. As for Paul's space discussion, first, we had lots of listener phone calls and emails. Paul covered many topics from water on the Moon, why go to the Moon, the best places to go once we are on the Moon, the Moon vs. Mars debate, the need to include lunar and cislunar work in the upcoming infrastructure bill (assuming such a bill does come to pass), cislunar development and so much more. We talked policy, geopolitics, engineering, space settlement issues, you name it. This was an impressive and comprehensive discussion which you do not want to miss. Paul responded to all listener email questions and phone calls in detail. Read the full summary at www.thespaceshow.com for this program on this date, Sunday, Feb. 26, 2017.

Add this to another station Dr. John Brandenburg, Thursday, 2-16-17 (13.44MB; download) -- We welcomed back Dr. John Brandenburg for this 1 hour 58 minute program. The first segment focused on John's theory about Mars, nuclear explosions in its past, and the presence of specific isotopes in the Martian atmosphere supporting his theory. John opened by reading an email a Space Show listener sent him suggesting that time alone would explain the presence of the isotopes he was referencing in his theory. John explained why the listener was wrong and suggested the listener check out his references in his Sept. 2016 AIAA paper as the listener attended that talk. John also talked about him GEM Unification theory, gravity and the role of electro-magnetism (EM). He specifically referenced the EmDrive research being carried out by Eagleworks. In the second segment, he talked a bout his new science fiction book, "To Rule the Night: The UFO Wars- Book II of the Morningstar UFO Theory." He explained the trilogy to us as he has already written but not yet published Book III. John spent some time talking about how he writes science fiction, the inspiration he draws from and as you will hear toward the end of the show, the global history of the planet and humanity that he adds to his stories.
