Add this to another station Open Lines, Sunday, 1-29-17 (14.19MB; download) -- Welcome to this two hour 4 minute Open Lines discussion. After several announcement and suggested topic discussions, we talked with several listeners on many topics. One of the main topics was yet again the Moon or Mars debate, this time with references to the program of last Sunday with Dr. Larry Kuznetz on the Mars spacesuit and Larry's comments near the end of his show as to why we should not consider the Moon as a jumping off point for Mars. Our discussion led to the Musk and SpaceX plans for going to Mars plus our present day space capabilities. A listener asked me for my thoughts on the climate change debate and this then became a discussion topic on the show. In the second segment, Marshall called to talk about what we might do once we got to the Moon or Mars, suggesting that we had no real plan nor was there at this time a business case for either destination. A listener email asked me if I had any retirement plans and what they might be, then Doug suggested by a phone call which went dad that we should be focused on more than just mining. Unfortunately, he was not able to complete his comments do to his phone quitting on him. Kim in Mexico then called in with her ideas of what we would do on the Moon and on early space settlements. Kim had much to say so don't miss all her comments. John from Freemont called to talk about the Al Globus low radiation Earth orbit I mentioned earlier. He also talked about Moon Exress getting $20 million in funding. Before the segment and show ended, Doug emailed in with a follow up to a question he had asked on an earlier show about making assumptions about China grabbing or doing certain things on the Moon and what our response might be. This time Doug referred us to the documentary movie, "Death By China" produced by Dr. Peter Navarro who is part of the Trump space landing team with the transition.
