Dr. Paul Sutter, Monday, 9-19-16 (11.18MB; download) -- We welcomed back Dr. Paul Sutter to discuss space science and more. We started with a brief discussion of the Electric Universe theory. From there, we moved to a scientific discussion about time travel, both going back in time and going forward in time. It seems that going back in time will not work but we could go forward in time but we would need to be able to approach the speed of light to make it more than just an academic theory for without the near light speed, none of this would be practical. You won't want to miss this discussion. We also talked about EmDrive, warp drive, and other concepts for breakthrough propulsion. Please read the full summary of this program at www.thespaceshow.com for this show on this date, Sept. 19, 2016. Selected by: David Livingston [ stations ], Tue, 20 Sep 2016 14:46:26 UTC

AIAA Space 2016 Interviews, Sunday, 9-18-16 (26.15MB; download) -- Welcome to the taped interviews that I did at this year's Space 2016 Conference in Long Beach, CA. on Sept. 12, 2016. First, there were audio issues with the tape recorders so I apologize for the glitches you will hear. Next, I put all of the interviews into one program so it is a long play at slightly more than three hours. The first segment which runs 1 hour 16 minutes including Space Show startup and introductions Steve Jolly, the Lockheed Martin chief engineer for the civil space line of business and Tim Cichan, Lockheed's space exploration architect. We discussed both the Orion capsule and the Mars Base Camp project (www.lockheedmartin.com/marsbasecamp. The second segment took place at the lab of Dr. Jim Woodward at Cal State Fullerton. Space Show listener John Hunt and I met with Dr. Woodward and Dr. Heidi Fearn to go over Jim's work in developing Mach Thrusters. This interview is about 1 hour 40 minutes in length. The final interview is with Space Show listener John Hunt. We debriefed one another after the Woodward-Fearn visit. This session was about 47 minutes in length. I realize this is a long recording. If you want to listen to it in segments, I suggest you start with the Lockheed interviews. You can return later for the Woodward-Fearn interview and the discussion John and I had about our visit. She explains where Moonwards stands today, how to participate, the skills needed and wanted and they WHY of it all. Kim also talked about technology for the virtual colony, why the Moon over Mars or other possible destinations, and much more. In the second segment, she discussed why she chose to do this program on 9/11. don't miss this discussion. Listeners asked her questions about her lunar location and the lunar choice over othe rpossible destinations. Near the end of the program, Doug called to talk about her use of basalt rather than inflatable technology, radiation and other issues. The last questions came from Adrian who suggested her concept would never get off the ground. I read his entire email on air so listen to how Kim replied.
