"We’re cuckoos in a wealthy middle class elite" (6.67MB; download) -- This is the first podcast for the Grassroots Channel - a series of programmes sponsored by the Birmingham Community Empowerment Network.
We’re starting with stories of active citizens in Britain’s second largest city: Birmingham.
Barbara Willis Brown tells us how she worked to rebuild communities by confronting prejudice. A tennis project in the city brought young black children into the leafy middle class environment of the tennis club, overcoming misconceptions from both sides. Her philosophy on revitalising communities is: "If it hasn’t got a challenge in it let everyone else do it."
Background music is copyright of a small local band called score. The Grassroots Channel is produced by Nick Booth of Podnosh. First available in October 2005 Selected by: Unregistered Visitor, Sun, 13 Nov 2005 01:12:32 UTC

pod-efl Episode 01 (41.88MB; download) -- Here is a great introduction to podcasting from an ESL/EFL perspective. It was originally created as a companion podcast to the June 19, 2005 Blogstreams Session at tappedin.org. This fine production by Graham Stanley will be the first referral I make to ESL/EFL instructors who want to learn about podcasting. For beginners or veteran podcasters, there is something for everyone in this 46 minute gem. Selected by: Unregistered Visitor, Tue, 21 Jun 2005 17:03:36 UTC
